Saturday, October 2, 2010  Thousands of people converged on Citizen's Bank Park today to Walk Now for Autism Speaks. One of the largest teams represented was your very own Herre's Gang!!! Our team met up at Green Ridge's Ladder Truck and then strolled through all of the various autism resource tables that were set up inside the stadium on the concourse level. The official walk started at 10am outside in the parking lot. Following the walk, Herre's Gang headed back to Aston for an all day party hosted by Bob and Donna. Winners were chosen for the 42 inch TV and the XBOX 360 that chances were sold for for the last several months. Mary Pat  Malorgio  won the TV and Nancy Davis won the XBOX 360, Congratulations to both of you!!!!

Bob and Donna would like to thank everyone for their constant support throughout the year in helping to raise money and attention for critical autism research. Also go to the Gallery to see all the pictures from the walk.

Monday, September 6, 2010  Please join Herre's Gang in our fight to make a difference in the lives of the more than 1 million Americans living with autism today.

Herre's Gang is  participating in Walk Now for Autism Speaks to help find a cure for autism. Autism is the second most common developmental disorder in the United States affecting one in every 110 children born today. Despite some promising discoveries, the cause of autism is unknown and a cure does not exist. Research is crucial. Every 15 minutes another child is diagnosed with autism. Not only must we find ways to improve the quality of life for children and adults with autism, but we also must find a cure, and soon.

Walk Now for Autism Speaks is our chance to make a difference in the fight against autism by raising money for autism research and heightening public awareness. Please join us  in our fight as we raise money to help fund essential research. You can donate to Walk Now for Autism Speaks and/or join our team online using the links at the bottom of  this page. Donations can also be mailed to Autism Speaks using the donation form located on our page or send Donna Herrea check made out to Autism Speaks.

Part 2--BEEF n BEER

Saturday, August 28, 2010  The latter part of the day was for the grown ups. The 2nd Annual Beef n Beer for Autism was held at the Phoenix Banquet Hall at Reliance Fire Co. There were 50 door prizes for people to bid on in a chinese auction style raffle. Raffles were also being held for a 42in HDTV and XBOX which will be selected on Oct. 2 after the Autism Speaks walk at Citizens Bank Park.  A fabulous meal was prepared by Renzi's Catering as well. Entertainment was provided by a DJ Billy and The Who's Blues Band with special guest drummer Kurt Tiger. The party went on deep into the night and everyone had a great time.

Bob and Donna would like to thank so many people for their help in planning and  coordinating both events throughout the day: Gina and Danny Ruggieri, The Herre Family and The Tedesco Family, The Campisi Family, Green Ridge Fire Co., Reliance Fire Co., all of the various businesses in Aston Twp. that made contributions to the events.  Thank you also to Marcus Hook-Trainer Fire Co. for covering Green Ridge so all of the members could enjoy themselves during the beef and beer.

Saturday, August 28, 2010  Herre's Gang has been planning two large scale events to raise awareness and funding for Autism. Part 1 was the 1st Annual Kids Fun Day and Part 2 was the 2nd Annual Beef n Beer.

The Kids Fun Day was held from 11a-2p at Green Ridge Fire Co.  There were several moon bounces for the kids to jump on, fire truck rides, face painting, spin art and a lot of other fun activities for the kids to enjoy. Food and refreshments were also available to help cool people off on the warm Saturday afternoon. Overall the event was a success for its first run and we look forward to expanding on next years Kids Day.

A special thank you to the Progress Fire Co. for covering Green Ridge and helping sell tickets to the fun day!!!
